A six year partnership, driving the growth of Scotland’s civil engineering contractor of choice.

Mackenzie Construction is a leading Scottish civil engineering contractor with operations across Scotland and England.

Genoa Black was engaged by Mackenzie Construction in 2017 to design both a brand and marketing strategy to support their vision to be the industry’s safest, most trusted and progressive contractor of choice.

Our marketing agency and creative studio followed on from this work by taking over leadership of the implementation of their marketing delivery and brand activation on an ongoing basis, as their retained marketing team and design studio. The team work closely with the team at Mackenzie Construction engaging daily at all levels to ensure successful delivery.

Since the initial engagement Genoa Black has now also supported on defining their wider business plan, most recently with their 2023-2028 Business Plan which aims to increase turnover 33% to £80m.

The strategy developed focuses on three core pillars-Commitment to Net Zero, People Excellence and Innovative Approach. Each of these pillars represents an important area of focus to support the desired growth of the business. Under each pillar lies a number of strategies and initiatives the business will focus on over the next five years which will be reviewed annually to track progress.

“Genoa Black has worked in close partnership with our management, operations and business development teams for over five years and has helped us successfully build our profile with a range of customers and stakeholders helping to drive our company growth.”
